CollegesWales Sport is the governing body for FE sport in Wales. Welsh FE colleges compete in CollegesWales Sport competitions across 20 sports with students from colleges representing the CollegesWales Sport at international level in sports including Football, Rugby, Hockey, Cricket and Netball.

CollegesWales Sport also has the wider role of promoting sport, physical activity and volunteering in the further education sector. This activity is managed by ColegauCymru in partnership with Sport Wales.

The Active Well-being project remains closely linked to Sport Wales priority areas, raising participation, increasing volunteering and workforce and tackling inequalities. Within the project, the target population is FE students in the 16-24 age group studying full-time courses in colleges. Since 2014, the project has engaged with 30,000 young people across Wales.
